Picked up the four 1975 World Open discs because I'm interested in collecting tournaments, and there's a great mix of names I'm familiar with (Baba, Tsuruta, Rhodes, Abdullah, etc.) and a few that I've heard but never seen in action (Don Leo Jonathan, The Destroyer, Mr. Wrestling).

For the most part, the wrestling is MUCH slower than you would see in the 80's. Moves that you'd expect wrestlers to just shrug off now (headlocks, head scissors, armbars, etc.) are used to wear the opponent down, and that process takes more time. Not to say that it's boring, but it feels more like there's a 'chess game' going on instead of a flurry of moves, which makes it more like something you'd find in Maeda's UWF.

Most interesting matches were Baba/Raschke, Tsuruta/Hoffman, and Rhodes/Matsuda.

Dory/Abdullah was a straight-up brawl with little 'chess', which is also fun (and I wasn't expecting Abby to be able to move so quickly, he sure slowed down in the 80's).

Rhodes/Race was painfully slow, I almost skipped ahead.

Murdoch/Geesink... was this a shoot? I'd love to know, it seemed like something happened in the ring that wasn't supposed to.
